A new educational model for acquisition of sustainability competences through service learning<\/p>\n

<\/h2>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\"EN[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The NEMOS project<\/strong> (www.nemosproject.com<\/a>) acknowledges sustainability<\/strong>\u00a0as an increasingly crucial skill for graduate and post-graduate students to tackle important global challenges such as climate change, food waste and the loss of biodiversity in their professional future.<\/p>\n

Therefore, the project aims to define a new educational model to integrate sustainability competences in the curricula of food-related degrees by means of service learning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In practice, by developing a\u00a0Food Sustainability Profile<\/strong>\u00a0for students and a\u00a0methodological handbook<\/strong>, NEMOS will create a guidance framework, toolkits and educational practices patterns for the acquisition of sustainability competences through green pedagogies and service learning.<\/p>\n

The ultimate aim will be to contribute to the achievement of the\u00a0UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Methodological Handbook in Sustainability through Service-learning<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

This handbook describes how service-learning can be implemented in curricula at university level, both bachelor or master programs. In addition to basic information, specific examples are described in detail how service-learning can improve the training of students of food related studies in the field of sustainability.<\/span><\/p>\n
