Maurizio Zanella was born in 1956,\u00a0studied agriculture and was introduced to the world of\u00a0wine in the sixties, when his mother acquired a small hillside property called \u201cCa\u2019 del\u00a0Bosc\u201d.\u00a0Zanella is an extensively travelled wine cosmopolitan who has put into practice in his native\u00a0<i>Franciacorta <\/i>which<\/span><span style=\"color: #333333;\"> he learned in France, particularly Burgundy and Bordeaux. In 1968, he created\u00a0Ca\u2019 del Bosco, today the leading producer of fine-bubbled Franciacortas. Ca\u2019 del Bosco\u2019s pre-eminence has been driven by Zanella\u2019s passionate enthusiasm. In the early seventies, he\u00a0embraced his artistic creativity and became one of the leading figures in Italy\u2019s wine renaissance\u00a0by transforming what was a house in the chestnut woods into one of the country\u2019s most modern\u00a0wineries.\u00a0 His new role as Ambassador for the East Lombrady, European Region of Gastronomy 2017 will match his passion for quality local food and wine.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The\u00a0<b>European Region of Gastronomy Platform and Award<\/b>\u00a0aim to contribute to better quality of life in European regions, by highlighting distinctive food cultures, educating for better health and sustainability and stimulating culinary innovation.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>IGCAT &#8211; International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism<\/b>\u00a0&#8211; gives the award, with the support of European institutions.
