{"id":13016,"date":"2016-10-17T06:11:36","date_gmt":"2016-10-17T06:11:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/?p=13016"},"modified":"2016-10-17T06:11:36","modified_gmt":"2016-10-17T06:11:36","slug":"a-food-truck-to-showcase-east-lombardys-specialties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/es\/a-food-truck-to-showcase-east-lombardys-specialties\/","title":{"rendered":"A Food Truck to showcase East Lombardy\u2019s specialties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As part of East\u00a0Lombardy &#8211; European Region of Gastronomy 2017, a food truck with East Lombardy\u2019s patronage gave the opportunity to many visitors at\u00a0<em>Mercatanti in Fiera<\/em>\u00a0to discover typical food from Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona and Mantua.<\/p>\n<p>East\u00a0Lombardy &#8211; European Region of Gastronomy 2017 is\u00a0a project featuring the\u00a0enhancement of quality local food and wine products and culinary traditions, with a view to integrating them in the tourism offer and to improving local sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>East Lombardy&#8217;s food truck\u00a0highlighted East Lombardy&#8217;s gastronomic offer included\u00a0traditional filled pasta, such as\u00a0<em>casunsei<\/em>, pumpkin gnocchi with Provolone D.O.P. cheese, gourmet sandwiches, such as potato\u00a0focaccia\u00a0bread with Bergamo\u2019s sausage, ciabatta with perch in\u00a0<em>carpione<\/em>, Panini with Montisola\u2019s salami and\u00a0focaccia\u00a0bread with Gorgonzola D.O.P. cheese, sweets such as\u00a0<em>fave di morti<\/em>\u00a0or the cake\u00a0<em>sbrisolona<\/em>\u00a0and beverages, such as the Valcalepio D.O.C. red wine, the Lugana D.O.C. wine, the Franciacorta brut D.O.C.G. wine, Mantua\u2019s Lambrusco and artisan pils beer.<\/p>\n<p>This year was the 15th edition of\u00a0<em>Mercatanti in Fiera<\/em>\u00a0taking place\u00a0in Bergamo\u00a0from\u00a06-9\u00a0October. The event hosts many food and wine stands with the opportunity to taste foods and beverages that are typical of different regions, both Italian and European, and to buy handmade traditional products.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0European Region of Gastronomy\u00a0Platform and Award aim to contribute to better quality of life in European regions, by highlighting distinctive food cultures, educating for better health and sustainability and stimulating gastronomic innovation. Candidate regions are invited to join a knowledge-exchange platform of European regions in order to further cross-border collaborations and develop shared initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>IGCAT\u00a0(International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) organises the award with the support of European institutions.
