{"id":13497,"date":"2016-11-24T12:46:59","date_gmt":"2016-11-24T11:46:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/?p=13497"},"modified":"2017-01-24T11:17:21","modified_gmt":"2017-01-24T10:17:21","slug":"four-provinces-collaborate-to-attain-sustainable-food-supply-chains-and-integrated-authentic-and-quality-culinary-offers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/es\/four-provinces-collaborate-to-attain-sustainable-food-supply-chains-and-integrated-authentic-and-quality-culinary-offers\/","title":{"rendered":"Four provinces collaborate to attain sustainable food supply chains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Four provinces under the umbrella organisation of East Lombardy, European Region of Gastronomy 2017 participated in <em>Il Bont\u00e0<\/em>, Cremona&#8217;s fair for Italian gastronomic excellence, \u00a011-14 November 2016.\u00a0 This was the 14<sup>th<\/sup> edition of <em>Il BonT\u00e0<\/em>, that strives to support\u00a0 gastronomic excellence on crafted and home-made food produce.\u00a0The four provinces stregthened their ongoing collaboration with a shared stand and a dedicated round table entitled <em>From production to the market<\/em>, endorsed by Cremona Municipality and offered in collaboration with the city\u2019s Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n<p>Discussions focused on the project, the four provinces\u2019 qualitative gastronomic offer and the benefits deriving from working together for a common objective: a sustainable food supply chain and an integrated and authentic tourist offer.\u00a0The round table included interventions by Elena Viani, Scientific Secretary of East Lombardy, European Region of Gastronomy 2017;\u00a0Barbara Manfredini, Cremona Council member for city\u2019s quality of life and urban regeneration;\u00a0and Massimo Rivoltini, President of Cremona Artesans Association and Cremona\u2019s Ambassador for East Lombardy, European Region of Gastronomy 2017.\u00a0The presentation attracted a considerable audience, ranging from hospitality schools students to local people and food-farming producers.\u00a0<em>l BonT\u00e0<\/em>\u00a0fair took place at Cremona Exhibition Centre and\u00a0was attended by nearly 50000 visitors and hosted 163 exhibitors.<\/p>\n<p>The round table concluded with a tasting of typical products from East Lombardy&#8217;s four provinces, including<em>Franciacorta<\/em>, <em>Bitto<\/em>, <em>Provolone <\/em>and <em>Grana Padano<\/em> cheeses, <em>Salame Cremona<\/em> and other traditional culinary proposals.<\/p>\n<p>East Lombrady was awarded the title European Region of Gastronomy 2017 at Expo Milan, under the patronage of DG Growth of the European Commission. East Lombardy&#8217;s plan for 2017 includes many events to support and promote SME&#8217;s working in authentic culinary food production.\u00a0The\u00a0European Region of Gastronomy\u00a0Platform and Award aim to contribute to better quality of life in European regions, by highlighting distinctive food cultures, educating for better health and sustainability and stimulating gastronomic innovation. Candidate regions are invited to join a knowledge-exchange platform of European regions in order to further cross-border collaborations and develop shared initiatives. \u00a0IGCAT\u00a0(International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) organises the award with the support of European institutions.
