The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) defines tourism more generally, in terms which go \u00abbeyond the common perception of tourism as being limited to holiday activity only\u00bb, as people \u00abtraveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The UNWTO recently introduced silk route tourism and spice route tourism into the list. The Kerala state in India was the first one to introduce \u201cSpice Route Tourism\u201d by linking 31 countries in Asia, Africa and Europe. In the year 2013, Government of Kerala convinced UNWTO to promote \u201cSpice Route Tourism\u201d and in 2014 by tying-up with UNESCO, Kerala initiated \u201cSpice Route Tourism\u201d.
