{"id":17477,"date":"2019-01-18T15:11:29","date_gmt":"2019-01-18T14:11:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/?p=17477"},"modified":"2019-05-10T13:13:36","modified_gmt":"2019-05-10T11:13:36","slug":"developing-local-food-networks-foodbiz-state-of-play","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/es\/developing-local-food-networks-foodbiz-state-of-play\/","title":{"rendered":"Developing local food networks: FOODBIZ state of play"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Engaging local stakeholders to build local networks is one of the main goals of <strong>FOODBIZ \u2013 <em>University and business learning for new employability paths in food and gastronomy<\/em><\/strong>, an <strong>Erasmus+<\/strong> funded project involving four European universities committed to strengthen key employability skills of higher education students in the field of food and gastronomy.<\/p>\n<p>The project\u2019s state of play was discussed during the third project meeting held at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) on 15-16 January 2019. The meeting gathered representatives from the eight partners involved in the <a href=\"http:\/\/foodbiz.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FOODBIZ<\/a> consortium: the\u00a0<strong>University of Macerata<\/strong>\u00a0(Italy) as leading partner;\u00a0the <strong>University of Gothenburg<\/strong>\u00a0(Sweden); the\u00a0<strong>Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management\u00a0of the\u00a0University of Rijeka<\/strong>\u00a0(Croatia); <strong>Poznan<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>University of Economics and Business <\/strong>(Poland); the <strong>Piceno Lab of the Mediterranean Diet<\/strong> (Italy); the <strong>Svinesund Committee<\/strong>\u00a0(Sweden); the\u00a0<strong>European Cultural Tourism Network<\/strong>\u00a0(ECTN); and the <strong>International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism<\/strong> (IGCAT), represented by Research Officer, Fabrizia Toccoli.<\/p>\n<p>Discussion focused on the activities carried out so far by each university to boost <strong>co-creation<\/strong> processes between students and businesses operating in the local food markets and identify crucial <strong>learning needs<\/strong>. Furthermore, partners shared views on how to capitalise on those activities\u2019 outcomes in order to develop online learning resources addressing the diagnosed learning gaps.<\/p>\n<p>IGCAT will be in charge of drafting the <strong>FOODBIZ guidelines<\/strong>, thought to guide the implementation of the project in other communities in the future. The document will be presented together with the project\u2019s results at <strong>FOODBIZ Final Conference<\/strong>, to be hosted by Poznan University of Economics and Business in October 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Developed in the framework of the action on\u00a0<em>Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education<\/em>\u00a0of the\u00a0Erasmus+ programme, \u201cFOODBIZ aims at promoting acquisition of relevant skills and competences related to <strong>employability<\/strong> in higher education students through their active involvement in <strong>community learning<\/strong> activities\u201d as highlighted on the project\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/foodbiz.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About IGCAT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IGCAT<\/strong>\u00a0is a non-profit institute established in 2012, working with regional stakeholder consortiums in the fields of gastronomy, culture, arts and tourism. It counts on the expertise of a worldwide\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/experts\/global-experts-network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">network of experts<\/a>\u00a0and works in partnership with specialised intergovernmental organisations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IGCAT<\/strong>\u00a0aims to<strong>\u00a0empower local communities<\/strong>\u00a0by guiding, facilitating, and supporting leaders in regions to understand the potential of their distinct food, culture, arts and sustainable tourism assets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IGCAT<\/strong>\u00a0provides the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/projects\/region-of-gastronomy-award\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Region of Gastronomy Award<\/a>\u00a0and is the official secretariat for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/projects\/region-of-gastronomy-award\/european-region-of-gastronomy-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">European Region of Gastronomy Platform<\/a>.
