Local food products, recipes, food producers, chefs, food traditions, food innovations, food techniques and practises, food landscapes or built heritage related to regional gastronomy are only a few of the eligible protagonists of the short films IGCAT seeks.<\/p>\n<p>The Food Film Menu 2021 includes 8 categories: <strong>Regions of Gastronomy<\/strong>; <strong>European Young Chefs<\/strong>; <strong>Food-related Visitor Experiences or Food Gifts from the Regions of Gastronomy<\/strong>; <strong>Historical Food Routes<\/strong>; <strong>New Food Trends<\/strong>; <strong>Environment and Food<\/strong>; <strong>Food and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong>; and, new to this year\u2019s edition, a category devoted to <strong>Candidate World Regions of Gastronomy<\/strong>, that welcomes food stories coming from all continents.<\/p>\n<p>A committee of IGCAT experts in the food, culture and film sectors will select one winning short film in each category and these will form the Food Film Menu 2021, to be showcased in different film festivals across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>IGCAT will also launch a people\u2019s choice vote on Facebook to elect the Overall Winner of the Food Film Menu 2021 and two runners-up, to be announced at a high-profile event next Autumn (circumstances permitting).<\/p>\n<p>IGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu contributes to internationally promote\u00a0local food products, know-how, traditions and new trends related to gastronomy and crafts; encourage film directors to become ambassadors for their regions; and stimulate awareness\u00a0of food and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n<p>The Food Film Menu 2021\u00a0<strong>call for submissions<\/strong> is available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/projects\/food-film-menu\/submissions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Deadline:\u00a0<strong>16 August 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Regions of Gastronomy Platform\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/world-regions-of-gastronomy-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Candidate and awarded Regions of Gastronomy<\/a>, guided by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IGCAT<\/a>, are working together to raise awareness about the importance of their cultural and food uniqueness; stimulate creativity and gastronomic innovation; educate for better nutrition; improve sustainable tourism standards; highlight distinctive food cultures; and strengthen community well-being.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About IGCAT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IGCAT<\/strong>\u00a0aims to<strong>\u00a0empower local communities<\/strong>\u00a0by raising awareness of the importance to safeguard and promote distinct food, culture, arts and sustainable tourism assets.
