The Erasmus+ project ON-IT \u2013 Online Internship in Tourism<\/a> in which IGCAT is a consortium partner, will organise a webinar on Online Internship in Europe:<\/em><\/strong> How can virtual internships ensure meaningful work-based learning experiences? <\/em><\/strong>in the framework of the Erasmus Days 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The webinar will be celebrated on 15 October 2021<\/strong> (11:00am-12:30pm CEST). Besides giving an overview of the ON-IT project, it will present the results of a mapping activity<\/a> of online internship experiences provided by EU universities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through testimonials and open discussion, the event will explore the constraints and opportunities of online internships in Europe.<\/p>\n

The webinar is especially targeted to all actors involved in the online internship experience: students, university administrative staff, university tutors, company tutors; but is open to anyone interested in advancing the design and implementation of meaningful online internships in higher education.<\/p>\n

About the ON-IT project<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ON-IT project aims to develop a guidance framework and practical tools to design and implement quality online tourism internships in higher education. By actively engaging all actors involved in the internship experience, the ON-IT project focuses on equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to face the challenges of digital transformation in the labour market.<\/p>\n

The ON-IT project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, and implemented by a consortium led by the University of Macerata<\/a> (Italy) and including: University of La Laguna<\/a> (Spain); JAMK University of Applied Sciences<\/a> (Finland); Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management of the University of Rijeka<\/a> (Croatia); Montpellier Business School<\/a> (France); Mediterranean Universities Union – UNIMED<\/a> (Italy); and IGCAT<\/a> (Spain).<\/p>\n

About IGCAT<\/strong><\/p>\n

IGCAT\u00a0aims to\u00a0empower local communities\u00a0by raising awareness of the importance to protect and promote distinct regional food, culture, arts and natural assets as part of sustainable and balanced tourism and development strategies. This is essential to safeguard our planet, health, wellness and local economies.<\/p>\n

IGCAT\u00a0is a non-profit institute established in 2012, working with regional stakeholder consortiums in the fields of gastronomy, culture, arts and tourism. It counts on the expertise of a worldwide\u00a0network of experts<\/a>\u00a0and works in partnership with specialised intergovernmental organisations.<\/p>\n

IGCAT\u00a0founded the\u00a0European and the World\u00a0Region of Gastronomy Award<\/a>\u00a0and is the official secretariat for the\u00a0European<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0World Regions of Gastronomy Platform<\/a>.
