The Menorca International Film Festival \u2013 Social & Sustainable<\/a> joined the network of international cinematographic events that support IGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu<\/a> initiative.<\/p>\n

Following a collaboration agreement signed with\u00a0IGCAT<\/strong>, the Festival will showcase the short film A Food and Love Story<\/em><\/strong> – overall winner of the\u00a0Food Film Menu 2021<\/a>\u00a0– in the framework of the Cooking Films<\/a> event, to be held in Menorca on 2-5 June 2022.<\/p>\n

A strong supporter of the title of Menorca, European Region of Gastronomy awarded 2022<\/a>, the Cooking Films is a festival that combines cinema and gastronomy, by organising thematic screenings and dinners in unique locations on the island, in the presence of internationally renowned chefs.<\/p>\n

Through its events, the Cooking Films gives visibility to local food products and producers and encourages debate among invited chefs, professionals in the food and film sectors, and the public on topics such as gastronomy, sustainability and culture.<\/p>\n

The event includes two sections: Cooking Films<\/strong>, where the audience will enjoy an exclusive meal accompanied by a film screening; and Cooking Pro<\/strong>, offering different activities such as cooking shows, tastings or experiences focused on local products, circular economy and the secrets of local cuisine.<\/p>\n

President of IGCAT, Diane Dodd PhD<\/strong> highlighted that \u201cit\u2019s an honour to collaborate with Menorca International Film Festival and the Cooking Films event in the endeavour to support and give visibility to sustainable local gastronomy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Director of the Menorca International Film Festival, In\u00e9s Garrell<\/strong> remarked that \u201cthe Cooking Films festival advocates for values such as creativity and awareness-raising through the audio-visual sector and, at the same time, it stimulates the local economy, giving special visibility to female producers and Km0 products. All revenues from this cultural event revert to the local community. Furthermore, it gives support to the title of Menorca, European Region of Gastronomy awarded 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n

About IGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu<\/strong><\/p>\n

IGCAT\u2019s\u00a0international\u00a0Food Film Menu<\/a>\u00a0is a collection of short food films that showcase awarded, candidate and potential\u00a0World and European Regions of Gastronomy<\/a>\u00a0and their culinary heritage to raise awareness about the importance of food and cultural diversity for community well-being and a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n

IGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu\u00a0promotes internationally\u00a0local food products, know-how, traditions and new trends related to gastronomy and crafts; encourages\u00a0film directors to become ambassadors for their regions; and stimulates\u00a0awareness of food and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n

To increase the visibility of the Food Film Menu, IGCAT collaborates with several\u00a0international film festivals<\/a>\u00a0including:\u00a0Menorca International Film Festival<\/strong>; the\u00a0FoodFilmFestival<\/strong>\u00a0in Aarhus;\u00a0Girona Film Festival<\/strong>;\u00a0EATSA Art & Tourism Film Festival<\/strong>;\u00a0ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival<\/strong>; and\u00a0Amorgos Tourism Film Festival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
