{"id":2901,"date":"2014-07-23T09:07:57","date_gmt":"2014-07-23T09:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/?p=2901"},"modified":"2014-07-23T09:07:57","modified_gmt":"2014-07-23T09:07:57","slug":"wine-architecture-and-the-tourism-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/es\/wine-architecture-and-the-tourism-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Wine, architecture and the tourism experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Architecture is a key factor in the creation of food and wine tourism experiences say researchers at Victoria University of Wellington.\u00a0Dr. Julia Albrecht from the School of Management and Tobias Danielmeier from the School of Architecture are working together to understand the interrelationship between architecture, and the way people experience hospitality spaces, such as wineries.\u00a0Dr. Albrecht, a senior lecturer in tourism management, says wineries have only become destinations for visitors in the last 30 years, changing the way they function and look.\u00a0\u201cFor example, a winery in Marlborough has built a Tuscany-like tower structure which is only for the benefit of visitors\u2014it doesn\u2019t have any function to how the wine is made, stored, or anything else to do with the product,\u201d she says.\u00a0The researchers are interested in what architecture can add in terms of value to the visitor experience.
