{"id":11563,"date":"2016-06-01T11:13:29","date_gmt":"2016-06-01T11:13:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.igcat.org\/?p=11563"},"modified":"2016-06-29T10:30:06","modified_gmt":"2016-06-29T10:30:06","slug":"igcat-at-euro-mediterranean-food-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/fr\/igcat-at-euro-mediterranean-food-congress\/","title":{"rendered":"Euro-Mediterranean Food Tourism Congress adds a new twist"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"nH a4O\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"no\">\n<div class=\"nH nn\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"ar4 z\">\n<div class=\"AO\">\n<div id=\":4\" class=\"Tm aeJ\">\n<div id=\":2\" class=\"aeF\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH g\">\n<div class=\"nH a4O\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"no\">\n<div class=\"nH nn\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"ar4 z\">\n<div class=\"AO\">\n<div id=\":4\" class=\"Tm aeJ\">\n<div id=\":2\" class=\"aeF\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH\">\n<div class=\"nH g\">\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Euro-Mediterranean Food Tourism Congress\u00a0<\/span>in Tossa de Mar on 1 June, added a new tiwst this year when it invited IGCAT experts to participate in a programme especially designed to demonstrate culinary tourism in action.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">IGCAT&#8217;s participation in the congress started with a warm\u00a0welcome from M\u00aa \u00c0ngels Pujals, Tourism Councilor of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tossademar.cat\/\">Tossa de Mar<\/a>, Dr. Jordi Tresserras, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ub.edu\/labpatc\/\">LABPATC<\/a>, University of Barcelona and Dr. Diane Dodd, Executive Director of IGCAT (International Institute of Gastrnomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) during a\u00a0<\/span>guided visit to Sant Benet, a unique Costa Brava Traditional Farm where IGCAT&#8217;s Experts and Euro-Mediterranean Food Congress participants learnt about Catalan farming techniques.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dr. Lidia Varbanova from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.concordia.ca\/jmsb.html\">John Molson School of Business<\/a>, Concordia University , Canada, \u00a0led the first round table where she presented her new book &#8220;Entrepreneurship in the Arts&#8221;. \u00a0Evarist March, Director of <a href=\"http:\/\/naturalwalks.com\/ca\/\">NaturalWalks<\/a> and Gastrobotanist of the Celler de Can Roca then joined her in a debate on how arts and food organisations are giving a new twist to traditional products and services.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The participants then participated in a tasting of traditional food from Tossa de Mar which included Cim-i-tomba and Mar-i-muntanya, a dish of fish and meat prepared with chocolate. The dishes were produced in a local Restaurant that forms part of the European Chocolate Route.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The participants ended the day with a private visit to the Catalan Cuisine Museum project \u00a0where a second round table took place based on Gastronomy: Innovation on Tradition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">IGCAT thanked Dr. Jordi Tresserras who led the programme, as well as the Municipality of Tossa de Mar for giving to IGCAT a warm welcoming during the Annual Expert&#8217;s Meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=es&amp;q=https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1464818390740000&amp;usg=AFQjCNF4gQcXuMJ5_Rt7Mpmu6v0Z9Ci5-w\">IGCAT\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0(International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) is an international network of experts from gastronomy, culture, art and tourism and other sectors who have an interest in the exciting areas to be developed when there is a convergence between \u00a0these sectors.
