These campaigns will be funded through public-private partnerships, business summits, and around 5000 business-to-business meetings for tourism operators financed by the European Commission\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/growth\/smes\/cosme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en-GB&amp;q=http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/growth\/smes\/cosme\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1517304704061000&amp;usg=AFQjCNEQs34TE2NK-9KMklZLP6wvQbUWjg\">COSME programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is hoped that the initiative will lead to an annual increase of 10% of Chinese visitors, representing a minimum of \u20ac1 billion per year for the EU tourism industry. Tourism marketing in China will be targeted at individual travellers, and encourage alternatives to the main destinations which currently dominate Chinese tourism in Europe. The Year therefore represents a key opportunity to promote <a href=\"http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/eur-na\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en-GB&amp;q=http:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/eur-na\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1517304704061000&amp;usg=AFQjCNGdLxPWBfPnmU7iMfc8TZsE3qMxDQ\">UNESCO World Heritage sites in Europe<\/a>.
