IGCAT is proud to announce the official launch of the Food Film Menu<\/a>!<\/h4>\n

The creation of the Food Film Menu<\/strong> aims to support interactive and innovative ways of giving\u00a0visibility<\/strong>\u00a0to the food\u00a0heritage of the currently awarded European Regions of Gastronomy and potential world Regions of Gastronomy. This initiative falls into the digital agenda of IGCAT\u00b4s strategy to use technology to promote and educate on cultural culinary sustainability across Europe.<\/p>\n

The Food Film Menu will be a collection of (10) short films, selected yearly, showcasing footage from the Regions of Gastronomy or any potential candidate region. The focus of these short films will be food traditions, cultural and culinary heritage and recipes, landscapes and traditions of the regions. \u00a0Filmed by local filmmakers, acting as ambassador of her\/his region, the filmmaker will demonstrate her\/his region\u2019s culinary and cultural diversity. \u00a0Filmmakers are encouraged to involve food producers, food education, gastronomy tourism experiences and\/or arts\/culture\/creativity in their videos.<\/p>\n

The selected videos from the Food Film Menu<\/strong> will give visibility to different actors involved in the food chain, from production to consumption, focusing on locality, sustainability and authenticity, and guarantying a cross-collaboration and dialogue with the audio-visual and the creative sectors.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\nOpen Call for Submissions 2019<\/a>\n

About the European Region of Gastronomy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Candidate and awarded Regions of Gastronomy<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0from Europe, guided by\u00a0IGCAT<\/a><\/strong>, are working together to raise awareness about the importance of their cultural and food uniqueness and share the long-term aim to: promote a better quality of life in European regions; highlight distinctive food cultures; educate for better health and sustainability; nurture creativity; improve tourism standards; and stimulate gastronomic innovation.<\/p>\n

About IGCAT<\/strong><\/p>\n

IGCAT<\/strong>\u00a0is a non-profit institute established in 2012, working with regional stakeholder consortiums in the fields of gastronomy, culture, arts and tourism.
