{"id":22263,"date":"2020-12-16T13:05:17","date_gmt":"2020-12-16T12:05:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/?p=22263"},"modified":"2021-01-05T13:06:15","modified_gmt":"2021-01-05T12:06:15","slug":"fao-launches-the-uns-international-year-of-fruits-and-vegetables-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/fr\/fao-launches-the-uns-international-year-of-fruits-and-vegetables-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"FAO launches the UN\u2019s International Year of Fruits and Vegetables 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), QU Dongyu, today [15 December 2020] launched the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/fruits-vegetables-2021\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Year of Fruits and Vegetables 2021 (IYFV)<\/a>\u00a0with an appeal to improve healthy and sustainable food production through innovation and technology and to reduce food loss and waste.<\/p>\n<p>Proclaimed at the\u00a074th\u00a0session the UN General Assembly, IYFV 2021 is dedicated to raising awareness about the important role of fruits and vegetables in human nutrition, food security and health.<\/p>\n<p>FAO, the lead agency for celebrating the year in collaboration with other organizations, launched the year with an international virtual event.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the event the FAO Director-General described the initiative as &#8220;a unique opportunity to raise global awareness&#8221;.
