{"id":22942,"date":"2021-03-08T11:53:17","date_gmt":"2021-03-08T10:53:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/?p=22942"},"modified":"2021-03-24T11:54:37","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T10:54:37","slug":"igcat-announces-2nd-european-food-gift-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/fr\/igcat-announces-2nd-european-food-gift-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"IGCAT announces 2nd European Food Gift Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>European Food Gift Challenge<\/strong> <strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> edition<\/strong> will take place in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeanregionofgastronomy.org\/platform\/coimbra-region-2021-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coimbra Region, European Region of Gastronomy awarded 2021-2022<\/a>, on 23 July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>IGCAT\u2019s acclaimed contest will bring together top-quality <strong>food and crafts products<\/strong>\u00a0from the European Regions of Gastronomy, to be evaluated by an international jury of experts from\u00a0IGCAT\u00a0and the regions, with the aim to identify <strong>excellent, one-of-a-kind food gifts<\/strong> and promote them internationally.<\/p>\n<p>Attractiveness, sustainability, connection to the region\u00a0they come from, storytelling, creativity and innovation, will be among the criteria used to assess the submitted gifts that, in general, will be evaluated for their appeal to local and international visitors, increasingly searching for <strong>authentic<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>unique <\/strong>products.<\/p>\n<p>The jury will select <strong>7 category winners<\/strong> (Most Creative Branding; Most Sustainable Packaging; Best Storytelling; Best Tasting; Best Promotion of the Region; Best Innovation on Traditional Design; Best Contemporary Interpretation of Traditional Craft), as well as <strong>3 overall winners<\/strong> (1<sup>st<\/sup>, 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> prize). All of them will be permanently promoted on IGCAT\u2019s websites and social media.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/winners-of-the-1st-european-food-gift-challenge-announced\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1<sup>st<\/sup> edition<\/a> of the European Food Gift Challenge was held in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europeanregionofgastronomy.org\/platform\/kuopio-2020-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kuopio, European Region of Gastronomy awarded 2020-2021<\/a>, on 10 September 2020, and awarded <a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/projects\/european-food-gift-challenge\/european-food-gifts-2020\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10 top food-related gifts<\/a> from all over Europe.<\/p>\n<p>IGCAT\u2019s European Food Gift Challenge contributes to the <strong>protection and promotion of local food and cultural diversity<\/strong>\u00a0by instilling local pride into local traditions and acknowledging outstanding products from local culinary cultures.<\/p>\n<p>The European Food Gift Challenge 2021\u00a0<strong>call for submissions<\/strong> is available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IGCAT_European-Food-Gift-Challenge-2021_Open-Call-for-products.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Regions of Gastronomy Platform\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/world-regions-of-gastronomy-platform\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Candidate and awarded Regions of Gastronomy<\/a>, guided by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/test-oldwebsite.igcat.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IGCAT<\/a>, are working together to raise awareness about the importance of their cultural and food uniqueness; stimulate creativity and gastronomic innovation; educate for better nutrition; improve sustainable tourism standards; highlight distinctive food cultures; and strengthen community well-being.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About IGCAT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>IGCAT<\/strong>\u00a0aims to<strong>\u00a0empower local communities<\/strong>\u00a0by raising awareness of the importance to safeguard and promote distinct food, culture, arts and sustainable tourism assets.
