A call for submissions to IGCAT\u2019S Food Film Menu 2022<\/strong> competition is now open to collect short food films<\/strong> that showcase awarded and candidate World and European Regions of Gastronomy<\/strong> and their culinary heritage.<\/p>\n

The competition invites directors from around the world to share inspiring food stories from their regions by creatively depicting local food products, recipes, food producers, chefs, food traditions, food innovations, food techniques and practises, food landscapes or built heritage related to regional gastronomy.<\/p>\n

The Food Film Menu 2022 includes 7 categories: Environment, Sustainability and Food<\/strong>; European Young Chefs<\/strong>; Food-related Visitor Experiences<\/strong>; Food Gifts<\/strong>; European Regions of Gastronomy<\/strong>; Potential, Candidate and Awarded World Regions of Gastronomy<\/strong>; and, new to this year\u2019s edition, a category devoted to Young Farmers and Fishermen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A jury of IGCAT experts in the food, culture and film sectors will elect one winner in each category. These 7 short films will form the Food Film Menu 2022, to be showcased in different film festivals across the globe.<\/p>\n

IGCAT will also launch a people\u2019s choice vote<\/strong> on Facebook to select the Best European Films Overall<\/strong> (3rd, 2nd and 1st prize) and Best World Films Overall<\/strong> (3rd, 2nd and 1st prize), to be announced at a high-profile event next Autumn (circumstances permitting).<\/p>\n

IGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu<\/a> contributes to internationally promote local food products, know-how, traditions and new trends related to gastronomy and crafts; encourage film directors to become ambassadors for their regions; and stimulate awareness of food and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n

According to director Ljubomir Stefanov<\/strong>, official ambassador for the project, \u201cIGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu is a wonderful initiative that raises awareness about food\u2019s vital role in local sustainable development.\u201d<\/p>\n

To increase the visibility of the Food Film Menu, IGCAT collaborates with several international film festival<\/a> including: the FoodFilmFestival<\/strong> in Aarhus; Girona Film Festival<\/strong>; EATSA Art & Tourism Film Festival<\/strong>; ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival<\/strong>; and Amorgos Tourism Film Festival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
