The short film Visit Via Selinuntina, Sicily, Italy<\/em><\/strong> from Sicily, European Region of Gastronomy candidate 2025<\/a>, is the winner of the Balanced and Sustainable Tourism<\/strong> category of IGCAT\u2019s International Food Film Menu 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This video shows how with its historical, natural and traditional treasures, Via Selinuntina<\/em> (Sicily, Italy) is ready to welcome sustainable and responsible tourists in every season.<\/p>\n

Produced by CISP<\/a> as part of the CROSSDEV project<\/a>, Visit Via Selinuntina, Sicily, Italy <\/em>was selected by an international jury of IGCAT experts<\/strong> as the best short film in the Balanced and Sustainable Tourism category for raising awareness of the advantages of integrating local food, recipes and traditions into the tourism offering, and of collaborating with food and cultural actors in the region to contribute to greater environmental, economic and cultural sustainability.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis video includes some beautiful gastronomic images. It really makes you want to taste the dishes shown and creates a good connection between crafts, tradition and sustainable tourism,\u201d affirmed jury member Robert Palmer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cCraftmanship and heritage are well balanced in the way the territory of Sicily is depicted in this video. The food and craft products look great,\u201d stated jury member Virginie Br\u00e9geon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0international jury<\/strong>\u00a0of IGCAT\u2019s International Food Film Menu 2023 included:\u00a0Mai Damgaard Rasmussen<\/a>\u00a0(Denmark), Director of the FoodFilmFestival of Aarhus and Chair of the jury;\u00a0Llu\u00eds Valent\u00ed<\/a>, Director of the Girona Film Festival (Spain);\u00a0Irene Giannakopoulos<\/a>, Founder and President of Amorgos International Film Festival (Greece);\u00a0Robert Palmer<\/a>\u00a0(Scotland), independent consultant\u00a0 and former Director of Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage at the Council of Europe;\u00a0Virginie Br\u00e9geon de Saint-Quentin<\/a>, expert in design, marketing and artistic direction (France); and\u00a0Ra\u00fal Torres Ajiaco<\/a>, Communications Manager and Digital Content Creator at IGCAT (Colombia).<\/p>\n

An online\u00a0public\u2019s vote<\/a>\u00a0is open (10-17 October 2023) to select the\u00a0Public\u2019s Favourite Film<\/strong>, that will be announced together with\u00a01st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0and 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0Prize<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a035th Girona Film Festival<\/a>\u00a0(Catalonia, World Region of Gastronomy awarded 2025) on\u00a011 November 2023.<\/p>\n

About IGCAT\u2019s International Food Film Menu<\/strong><\/p>\n

IGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu contributes to internationally promote local food products, know-how, traditions and new trends related to gastronomy and crafts; encourage film directors to become ambassadors for their regions; and stimulate awareness of food and cultural diversity.<\/p>\n

According to director\u00a0Ljubomir Stefanov<\/strong>, official ambassador for the project, \u201cIGCAT\u2019s Food Film Menu is a wonderful initiative that raises awareness about food\u2019s vital role in local sustainable development.\u201d<\/p>\n
