The short film It\u2019s All About the Taste!<\/em><\/strong> from Kvarner, European Region of Gastronomy candidate 2026<\/a>, is the winner of the Linking Urban and Rural <\/strong>category of IGCAT\u2019s International Food Film Menu 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 30 seconds, this promotional film shows Kavrner\u2019s basic philosophy in gastronomy, which is that indigenous, fresh foods are the basis for a farm to table approach, i.e. from sea to table. Fresh, from the Kvarner bay scampi are brought to the restaurant, where they are prepared by a young, famous chef. Vineyards and wines are shown, with a detail of the ripening of local sparkling wines under the sea. Then the enjoyment of food is displayed in several locations. In the end, the couple in love, with a playful dog, sitting by the sea, in untouched nature, open sparkling wine, enjoying the end of the day and the sunset.<\/p>\n

Produced by Filmerija and Kinoteka<\/strong> for the Kvarner Region Tourist Board<\/a>, It\u2019s All About the Taste! <\/em>was selected by an international jury of IGCAT experts<\/strong> as the best short film in the Linking Urban and Rural category for supporting a re-connection between rural and urban environments by encouraging a re-valorisation of traditional food through innovation and, therefore, fostering social cohesion.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell filmed, edited and told. This video made me want to catch up with local cuisine, meet with friends and go diving for wines,\u201d affirmed jury member Mai Damgaard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0international jury<\/strong>\u00a0of IGCAT\u2019s International Food Film Menu 2023 included:\u00a0Mai Damgaard Rasmussen<\/a>\u00a0(Denmark), Director of the FoodFilmFestival of Aarhus and Chair of the jury;\u00a0Llu\u00eds Valent\u00ed<\/a>, Director of the Girona Film Festival (Spain);\u00a0Irene Giannakopoulos<\/a>, Founder and President of Amorgos International Film Festival (Greece);\u00a0Robert Palmer<\/a>\u00a0(Scotland), independent consultant\u00a0 and former Director of Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage at the Council of Europe;\u00a0Virginie Br\u00e9geon de Saint-Quentin<\/a>, expert in design, marketing and artistic direction (France); and\u00a0Ra\u00fal Torres Ajiaco<\/a>, Communications Manager and Digital Content Creator at IGCAT (Colombia).<\/p>\n

An online\u00a0public\u2019s vote<\/a>\u00a0is open (10-17 October 2023) to select the\u00a0Public\u2019s Favourite Film<\/strong>, that will be announced together with\u00a01st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup>\u00a0and 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0Prize<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a035th Girona Film Festival<\/a>\u00a0(Catalonia, World Region of Gastronomy awarded 2025) on\u00a011 November 2023.<\/p>\n
